the Project

In the mid-1990s, the west stand of the Reichhof Stadium in Lustenau, with integrated ancillary buildings, was constructed.
The recent project comprised the construction of new north, south and east stands with heights of 10 m, four floodlight towers (heights 40 m) and other ancillary buildings.

our function

BGG Consult handled the geotechnical engineering aspects of these construction projects, in 1995 and for the latest project.
Based on underground investigations in the form of core drillings (depths up to 25 m) and dynamic probings, geotechnical reports were worked out.
Subsequently, the tendering process was accompanied, particularly with regard to the special heavy construction works.
During the construction phase, these works were supervised on site.

Deep Foundations:
In the area of the stands and the flood-
light towers, the underground is build up with low or varying load-bearing materials down to a depth of several metres. For this reason, deep foundations were advised, which were then implemented in the form of CFA piles (Continuous Flight Auger piles) with diameters of 65 cm or 47 cm. Also, at the locations of both the western towers, an existing canal (diameter 1000 mm) had to be bridged by a special construction.
Due to the concentrated loads of the floodlight towers, the pile grating had to be placed very low, reaching into the ground water body.
